Chris Hudson, Chairman of the Stop the Extradition of Sean Garland Campaign, has paid tribute to Tomás Mac Giolla, former
Workers Party President, TD and Lord Mayor of Dublin. Mr. Mac Giolla, a close friend and comrade of Sean Garland for
almost 60 years, died on February 4th. He was Secretary of the Sean Garland campaign and it's patron.
Mr. Hudson said that despite ill-health Tomás Mac Giolla had thrown himself wholeheartedly behind the campaign against
the extradition of Sean Garland. His status as a man of high integrity was a great benefit to the campaign.
"I would also like to pay tribute to Tomás's enthusiastic support for the Peace Train Movement which instinctively supported
from his principles which were strongly anti-sectarian and opposed to anything that would divide the people of this island.
He will be sadly missed both in the campaign and throughout Ireland" said Chris Hudson.
